FAQs
What’s the difference between private and semi-private acupuncture?
Semi-private acupuncture offers individualized treatment in a shared room with comfortable recliners. Private appointments provide a separate room for confidential discussion and more extensive treatment, which may include cupping, gua sha, or electroacupuncture when appropriate.
Do I need a private consultation before booking semi-private care?
No. Semi-private care has its own initial consultation and treatment appointment for $150. Semi-private follow-ups are $100.
What happens at my first appointment?
We review your health history, current concerns, medications, and goals. Dr. Nidia then assesses your needs, explains the proposed treatment, and answers your questions before beginning.

What if I’m nervous about needles?
Semi-private initial appointments allow up to 90 minutes total, including any consultation completed by phone beforehand. Semi-private follow-ups are 60 minutes. Private initial appointments are 120 minutes, and private follow-ups are 60 minutes.
The recommended number and frequency depend on your concerns, how long they’ve been present, and your response to care. We discuss a plan after your assessment and review your progress rather than promising a fixed result.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that can be moved above your elbows and knees. For private treatments requiring access to other areas, appropriate draping is provided.
Please tell Dr. Nidia before treatment. She will explain the process, discuss your concerns, and adjust the approach to your comfort. You can ask to pause or stop at any time.
It’s a brief phone conversation with Dr. Nidia to ask questions and explore appointment options. It does not include a clinical examination or treatment. Submit the request form with your phone number and a convenient time to call.
Appointments are available Tuesdays and Thursdays at Tampa Pain MD in Hyde Park. Call to schedule your visit, or request a free introductory phone call if you’re unsure where to begin.
